Sacraments & Pastoral Care

Anointing of the Sick

If you are scheduled to go to the hospital for surgery or extended care, contact the rectory in advance. If hospitalized, hospital pastoral care personnel usually provide this sacrament. In addition to an individual anointing, this sacrament is periodically celebrated at OLP as a “Healing Mass”.

Baptism

Baptisms are usually performed on Sunday after 11:00 a.m. Mass.  Parents of children to be baptized must participate in the Baptismal preparation program. The classes are held in the evening. If you are expecting a child, please contact the parish office as soon as possible for details and scheduling.

Communion Calls

Fr. Schilli, our deacons, and our Eucharistic ministers are happy to bring Communion to those confined to their home. Contact the parish office for arrangements:  314-843-3570.

Funeral Liturgies

Our parish staff and community want to assist you in any way we can when you have experienced a death in your family. The funeral home will first contact the parish office to work out the schedule for visitation and wake service.  If you wish, the parish Bereavement Ministry will meet with the family to assist in planning the readings, music and other details for the funeral liturgy.

Hospital Visitation

The pastor and parish nurse are interested in visiting parishioners when they are hospitalized. Please notify the rectory when a family member is hospitalized.

Matrimony

Couples contemplating marriage should first contact the pastor as soon as they have made a decision to marry, and at least six months prior to the intended date of marriage, so that proper preparations can be made. Wedding date and time are not confirmed until scheduled by the pastor or a priest, after the preparation process begins.
